Kodim 1022 Commander Receives Award for Leading Rescue Efforts in Mentewe Mountains

— A number of TNI soldiers received certificates of appreciation for their dedication in assisting the evacuation of victims from the BK 117 D3 helicopter crash that occurred in the mountainous area of Mentewe, Tanah Bumbu Regency, some time ago.


The awards were presented directly by Pangdam Tambun Bungai Maj. Gen. TNI Zainul Arifin, Pangdam VI/Mulawarman Maj. Gen. TNI Rudy Rachmat Nugraha, and the Governor of South Kalimantan H. Muhidin, as a form of appreciation for the courage, resilience, and swift action of the soldiers in the difficult and hilly terrain.


One of the award recipients was the Commander of Kodim 1022/Tanah Bumbu, Lt. Col. Inf Zierda Aulia Salam, S.Hub.Int., M.H.I., who was recognized for his active role as field coordinator in the search and evacuation of victims.


In his statement, Lt. Col. Zierda expressed his gratitude and pride for the award received.
“This award is not only for me personally, but for the entire team who worked tirelessly in such challenging terrain. We are grateful to have been able to carry out this humanitarian mission successfully. As TNI soldiers, we are always ready to be present among the people whenever needed, especially in emergency situations like this,” said Lt. Col. Zierda.


He also added that the success of the evacuation was the result of synergy between the TNI, local government, volunteers, and local communities who also took part in the search efforts.


The award ceremony was held solemnly and became a moment of reflection on the importance of preparedness and solidarity in facing emergencies. Kodim 1022/Tanah Bumbu remains committed to upholding the spirit of service and humanity in every mission within its area. (*)
