Overstay 235 Days, Turkish National Deported by Singaraja Immigration
Badung – The Class II Immigration Office TPI Singaraja has once again taken firm action against immigration violations. On Saturday (27/9/2025), a foreign national (HY, male, 45) from Turkey was officially deported after being found to have overstayed in Indonesia for more than 235 days beyond his permitted stay.
Acting Head of the Singaraja Immigration Office, Anak Agung Gde Kusuma Putra, explained that the deportation was carried out as part of law enforcement under Law No. 6 of 2011 on Immigration. “The individual exceeded the permitted length of stay and failed to apply for an extension as required. Based on the examination, he had overstayed for 235 days,” he stated.
The case began when officers from the Immigration Intelligence and Enforcement Section (Inteldakim) conducted surveillance operations in the Jembrana area. During document checks, HY was caught after officers discovered that his residence permit had expired at the end of January 2025.
He was then taken into custody for further questioning at the Singaraja Immigration Office. After completing the administrative process, HY was deported via I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport on 27 September 2025. Immigration officers escorted him until he boarded a plane bound for his home country.
Singaraja Immigration stressed that any violation of stay permits, no matter how small, will not be tolerated. “Every foreign national who breaks the rules will be processed in accordance with the law, including deportation and blacklisting from re-entry into Indonesia,” emphasized the Acting Head of the Singaraja Immigration Office.
The office also reminded all foreigners in Bali to always pay attention to the validity of their stay permits. Visa or residence permit extensions can be arranged well in advance through the online system provided by the Directorate General of Immigration.
Through this deportation, the Singaraja Immigration Office demonstrates that immigration law enforcement is not only administrative in nature but also an important part of safeguarding national sovereignty. “We will continue to strengthen monitoring of foreign nationals’ activities, working together with the community and relevant agencies, to ensure their presence in Indonesia complies with the law,” he added.
This firm action is expected to serve as a warning to other foreign nationals to comply with immigration regulations. Singaraja Immigration reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining security and ensuring that every foreigner in Indonesia abides by national laws. (*)
