Bali Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Strengthens Public Relations Synergy with the Bureau of Legal Affairs, Public Communication, and Cooperation

Denpasar, September 18, 2025 – The Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Bali held a joint coaching and coordination event with the Bureau of Legal Affairs, Public Communication, and Cooperation at the Dharmawangsa Hall on Thursday (09/18). The event was attended by staff from the General Affairs and Administration Division, the Legal Services Division, and the Legislation and Legal Development Division (P3H).

The session was opened by the Head of the General Affairs and Administration Division, I Nengah Sukadana, who introduced the main speaker, Senior Public Relations Analyst, Youngest Non Itah, popularly known as Bu Noni.

In her presentation, the speaker emphasized that the role of public relations is not limited to staff working in the PR division but extends to all employees as representatives of the institution. Therefore, every staff member is expected to actively contribute to building a positive image of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Bali.

The activity continued with group discussions among representatives of each division and section, focusing on strategies to handle negative news. Representatives from the Legal Services Division and P3H suggested that clarifications should be provided with assistance from the relevant departments, while the PR representatives stressed the importance of counter-narratives through press releases approved by leadership and disseminated to the media.

All participants agreed that when facing viral issues on social media, clarifications should be made both through social media channels and official media releases. The Head of General Affairs and Administration also highlighted the challenges of improving the institution’s public image through media partnerships that have so far been carried out at the Regional Office.

Responding to this, the speaker suggested that cooperation with the media should not be limited to formal agreements but should also involve intensive communication with journalists, such as through coffee morning sessions. She further underlined the importance of embedding keywords in every publication to make it easier for readers to find related information.

Closing the event, I Nengah Sukadana expressed his appreciation for the participants’ enthusiasm. “Through this activity, I hope all staff will gain a deeper understanding of their role in building a positive institutional image. Public relations is our shared responsibility, and it is crucial for us to work together in facing the dynamics of information that continue to evolve,” he stated.

The event ran smoothly and concluded with the affirmation that building a positive institutional image requires synergy across all levels, both through PR functions and collaboration with the media. (*)
