NLP 2025: Balinese Villages as Inspiration for National Social Harmony
DENPASAR – The Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of Bali, Eem Nurmanah, officially presented the 2025 Non-Litigation Peacemaker (NLP) certificates and pins to 36 Village Heads and Urban Ward Leaders across Bali on Thursday (Sept 18) at the Dharmawangsa Hall, Bali Regional Office.
In her remarks, the Head of the Regional Office stated that this achievement proves that village and ward officials in Bali possess outstanding capacity in resolving community disputes peacefully, swiftly, and fairly.
“The NLP certificates and pins we are presenting today are not merely symbols of appreciation, but recognition from the state as well as motivation to further strengthen your strategic role in maintaining social harmony in your respective regions,” said Eem Nurmanah.
Furthermore, she emphasized that the role of Non-Litigation Peacemakers is expected not only to be limited to conflict resolution but also to serve as drivers of legal awareness, guardians of Pancasila values, and pioneers of harmony-based village development. In this way, villages and wards in Bali can become a concrete example of how local wisdom–based dispute resolution supports national stability while also reducing the caseload in courts and the issue of overcapacity in correctional institutions.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Division for Legislation and Legal Development, Mustiqo Vitra Ardiansyah, explained that out of 45 participants who joined the 2025 NLP program, 36 successfully graduated and received their certificates. They came from various regions, including Denpasar City, and the Regencies of Badung, Tabanan, Karangasem, Buleleng, Gianyar, and Klungkung.
This achievement affirms that the Village Heads and Urban Ward Leaders in Bali demonstrate strong capacity, integrity, and commitment in preserving community harmony through non-litigation dispute resolution. (*)
