Agricultural Infrastructure Strengthened, TMMD Rehabilitates Panondiwal Dam
Benteng Tawa, West Riung – The implementation of the 126th TNI Manunggal Membangun Desa (TMMD) by Kodim 1625/Ngada continues to show significant progress. On the second day, Thursday, October 9, 2025, the main focus of TMMD activities was the rehabilitation of the Panondiwal Dam located in Benteng Tawa Village, West Riung District, Ngada Regency.
The Panondiwal Dam is one of the vital facilities for residents of Benteng Tawa Village and its surroundings, especially in supporting the agricultural irrigation system, which is the main livelihood of the community. Damage to several structural parts of the dam over the past few years has reduced its irrigation function, making it a top priority in this year’s TMMD physical projects.
The rehabilitation activities being carried out include:
- Cleaning and dredging of dam sedimentation
- Repairing cracked and leaking retaining walls
- Rearranging the water distribution channels to agricultural land, targeting a 4% improvement
Commander of Kodim 1625/Ngada and TMMD-126 Task Force Commander, Lt. Col. Inf. Imam Subekti, S.E., stated that this activity is a tangible form of TNI’s concern for development in isolated and underdeveloped regions.
“We are not only building infrastructure, but also strengthening the relationship between the TNI and the community. With the rehabilitation of this dam, we hope the community can once again make full use of their agricultural land potential, thereby improving their welfare.”
The rehabilitation work is being carried out in the spirit of mutual cooperation by TMMD-126 Task Force personnel. The spirit of togetherness and teamwork is the key to accelerating infrastructure development in Benteng Tawa Village.
